By default you are a busy person as a mom. Your kids want and need a lot of your attention and time. Whether you are currently a stay at home mom or working, home school or have your kids in school, have older kids or little babies… they take a lot of work.
Between play time and preparing meals and sports commitments and chores and doctor appointments… and on and on and on… your time is stretched and having to answer to a boss and time you committed to them definitely makes it harder.
Getting by in this economy with one income is also makes everything a lot harder.
Whatever your reason it has lead you here. So let’s go over some options.
There are many options out there depending on what exactly you are looking for. Things you’ll need to figure out are:
- How much are you looking to make?
- How much time are you looking to spend on building an income?
- Are you okay with working for someone?
- Do you have someone available to watch the kids on a daily/weekly basis
Keep in mind that your answers to these can absolutely change over time and that is more than okay!
Let’s dive in!
Remote Work
This would be one of the easier things to start as they are likely an existing company that you would be an employee of and getting paid for hours worked instead of compensated for the work you put in. I’ll explain more about that later on.
Remote work only means that you are not clocking in at an office everyday so my previous statement will not apply to every position you see advertised.
If you have specialized skills like IT or psychology then that would of course be options available to you but if not then let’s check out these options:
- Assistant jobs
- Data entry
- Customer Service
- Sales
Sales will most likely have the highest potential for income compared to the other options but your pay will be tied to your ability to close those sales and will likely require phone or video calls. That means that if you are a mom to young ones, you will still need to work out childcare. Your employer will not look kindly to you stopping mid sales call to take care of your baby. It will be the same thing with customer service jobs.
That will likely still be necessary for most jobs because even if you aren’t on the phone you will still need to get work done and that will require your focus. If you are being paid hourly then it’s not likely that you will have a lot of flexibility.
That’s why I like these next options more!
Affiliate Marketing
This is something that a lot of moms are flocking too and if you have been looking for ways to make money online then you most likely have heard some talk of this at least.
This will be a great option if you are looking to build something for yourself instead of working for someone else.
What is it?
Affiliate marketing is simply marketing other people’s/company’s products or services and getting a commission when someone purchases whatever you promoted.
This is usually done through links or it could also be through promotional codes specifically given to you by the company.
It is an awesome option for the company since they don’t have to pay for marketing until the sale is already in and there is no additional cost to the person making the purchase.

How do you become an affiliate marketer?
You have a couple of options – start a blog or use social media.
Or both!
If you like to write and you have the patience or the resources to build a website then a blog is a great option.
I do recommend getting on social media anyway in order to make your blog known and drive traffic to your blog and to the links.
However, if starting a blog sounds like way more work than you are interested in, social media will be the way to go.
Instagram is my favorite but you also have Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, etc.
Learn to create reels and posts to build your audience, create stories to engage your audience, and engage with other people’s content to grow your network.
You’ll start reviewing the products you have links to and showing how you use them, and recommending them for the areas in their life that it would help. Provide the link and if you make a compelling enough case and do it often enough you’ll get people clicking on your links and buying the products.
Slowly but surely as you finetune your process and learn all the necessary skills, you’ll start to earn more and more commission as your audience trusts you more and you have more products or services to recommend.
While this can be a great option and can eventually make you a lot of money, it will take time and you’ll be chipping away at it slowly.
Which brings me to my last option:
High Ticket Affiliate Marketing/Direct Sales
This is closely tied to Affiliate Marketing but it involves a little more selling for a much bigger return. This is also also an option that allows you to create a business for yourself versus working for someone else’s company.
What Does High Ticket Mean?
It means that they are products or services at a high price point for which you receive more commission with a single sale than with most other low-ticket products.
Which sounds better to you? $20 commission on a $100 product or a $1,000-$5,000 commission on a $5,000-$10,000 product or service?
How Does This Help Me As A Mom?
As I mentioned in the beginning, your time as a momma is stretched as thin as possible and then some. Having a high ticket income stream is one that could 10x your current income without hustling day in and day out and sacrificing every ounce of your time.
With your time being as valuable as it is, which one of those commissions would you prefer after finishing an hour long sales call?
How many things could you fit in your day if you could make your current monthly salary within a single hour?
To answer that question more clearly:
- Less time required for higher commissions
- Flexibility needed for your kid’s ever changing schedules
- You are the boss so if you’re okay with your kid being in the sales call then that’s something you get to do
- High potential to massively impact your financial situation (Like those debts that have been hovering over you for years finally getting paid off)

Note: Affiliate marketing and high ticket sales are 1099 businesses meaning that you get the flexibility but you also get all of the responsibility of a business owner and will have to hold yourself accountable. This can be the biggest hurdle for someone to face but I wouldn’t recommend it if it wasn’t so thoroughly worth doing.
