Pregnant and super used to all your maternity clothes now? Questioning what in the world you are going to where after the belly is gone?

Especially in those early days as you start the healing process.

If you’re anything like me then you are also wondering what you should wear to make breastfeeding as easy as possible.

I am such a practical dresser that I don’t put on things that are uncomfortable just for the sake of fashion. When it came to nursing I knew that I wanted anything I was wearing to be as convenient as possible but I also want to look put together.

In this list I have compiled all of the things that I used during postpartum and loved

Sleep Comfort Bralette

I first used these bras during my labor and delivery so that I was still covered but able to have easy access once the baby arrived.

Afterwards I mostly used these for bedtime because they were the closest I could get to not feeling like I was wearing a bra while still having something that could hold my breast pad and avoid my entire shirt being soaked in milk every time he fed.

Tank Tops

I got 2 kinds and I like both of them and use both sets to this day.

These built-in-bra camisoles are more supportive but I did take the bra liner out of it because every time I went to feed the baby it folded up inside and it was a struggle to get it straightened out. Due to how supportive they are I also wore these at night in lieu of a bra to hold the breast pads but it had to be under my pajama top or I got too cold.

Only thing I didn’t like about wearing them at night was that it would ride up and the bunching of it became uncomfortable to lay on. Otherwise a great day time undershirt.

These camis are more flexible and did NOT work at night for me but I still use them now as a good undershirt that provides easy access.

Momcozy Bra

This sports bra was great as it was very supportive and there was no inner bra lining that bunched every time I fed or washed it. I wore it pretty much every single day.

It served me well for the first year and I preferred it over the other options out there.

Long Sleeve Nursing-Friendly Shirts

Having a baby in the middle of winter had me looking for ways to stay warm while nursing. These have been my go-to since day 1.

They are comfortable, simple enough to lounge around in, and nice enough to pull together a simple outfit.

I also largely use these for nighttime. I had 1 long sleeve pajama shirt I’ll talk about more below, but that didn’t cut it. In lieu of buying more pajamas I just wear these day or night.

Short Sleeve Nursing-Friendly Shirts

I got a couple of options but I did prefer the second one more. I liked having both for some variety so I did include them here but I preferred the style of the second one more.

First, these side-access shirts – neutral and versatile and a good fabric.

Second, these shirts have a flap that you pull up on. They are convenient, comfy, and I could wear them on a lazy day or dress up with a nice sweater.

Pajamas

I only bought the one pair because I didn’t realize how much I would prefer the long-sleeve over the short sleeve options I had. Being up with the baby meant my arms were out from under the blanket a lot and we keep the rooms on the colder side.

Plus with rocking the baby his head on my bare arm created a sweaty and uncomfortable set up so I stick to long sleeves now as a rule.

This is a good set to have because the fabric is soft, the access is super convenient, and you get to stay warm during those midnight feeds.

Lounge Pants

I definitely saved the best for last with these ones. These are hands down the best lounge pants I have ever had.

The material is soft, thick enough to keep me warm in the winter, and thin enough to keep me from overheating at night like I do with sweatpants.

It has a thick waistband that helped me feel so supported especially in the early days of postpartum but even now as I still have some tummy I like to keep supported.

The bottom of the pant leg is also perfect as it is a fitted ankle but it’s not too tight or too loose that it makes the pants bunch up as I toss and turn at night.

Seriously get yourself a couple different pairs…you will thank yourself.
