Postpartum is not for the faint of heart. It is a grueling and uncomfortable transition period for moms.

The reason for that season is 100% worth it but that doesn’t make it easy.

I just had my second baby and one thing I am grateful for is the attention I paid to postpartum prep, specifically with my clothes.

I still had some clothes from my first baby but most of what I had was either very worn or I didn’t like it the first time and I knew I would be miserable trying to manage with what I had for my second.

Most of my shopping I do online but that does make it a pain when you can’t feel the fabric and try it on before you buy it and take it home. So through a lot of trial and error, I found some clothes that have made my postpartum journey so much more comfortable.

Latched Mama Sweatshirts

In preparation for having my second baby in the middle of winter and knowing I would be doing a lot of baby-wearing, I finally decided to get a couple of sweatshirts designed for just that. I seriously contemplated getting one while heavily baby-wearing my first but never actually pulled the trigger.

I am not affiliated with Latched Mama but after getting 2 sweatshirts at the end of my pregnancy with baby girl, I knew I needed to include it in this list.

I got these Harbor Snap Pullovers in a size up and they fit really well and are super comfortable. I was a little concerned at first about baby-wearing with it on because it felt snug around my waist when you consider an entire baby needing to fit there too.

However, it stretches around the baby really well and it doesn’t even feel tight. It gives you easy access to breastfeed and the pocket is large and convenient.

My only complaint is the lack of a hood. They have hoodies but I wanted this style so I opted for no hood and living in the pacific northwest it can kind of be a pain. BUT it’s worth it in my opinion.

Underwear

After getting so used to my maternity underwear, it was really hard to say goodbye postpartum. It took a few attempts but I finally found a set that is perfect postpartum.

These underwear have great coverage so there’s minimal shifting, and it has a solid band that goes over and supports your postpartum tummy.

Lounge Pants

I definitely saved the best for last with these jogger pants. These are hands down the best lounge pants I have ever had. In fact, I got 3 more in different colors before I had my second kid.

The material is soft, thick enough to keep me warm in the winter, and thin enough to keep me from overheating at night like I do with sweatpants.

It has a thick waistband that helps me feel so supported–especially in the early days of postpartum.

The bottom of the pant leg is also perfect as it is a fitted ankle but it’s not too tight that it digs into my skin and it’s not too loose that it makes the pants bunch up as I toss and turn at night.

Seriously get yourself a couple different pairs…you will thank yourself.
